Now lets talk infrastructure. I don't know of one venue in the country that has their own ticketing system. We do venue, it's what we do. But we don't do ticketing, and so we have middleware. So to be clear, it's our website, and then Company X does our ticketing.
So KROQ announces this morning, and 50,000 hit the site at the same time, and it overwhelms Company X's servers. Then the social networking starts...hundreds upon hundreds, if not thousands, of posts on our Facebook and Twitter. And not just frustrated...massively pissed off at Saint Rocke. And that deserves another WTF.
Listen, Bush is one of the biggest bands of our time. Simple Fact. Our venue holds 280 people. Simple Fact. Economics 101 says demand is way bigger than supply. What a fun, cool thing. So you didn't get a ticket? Darn. Next time. Is your job and life that bad that you produce such negativity in the world? C'mon now. They do always say that sports & music takes a dramatic upturn in down economies.
Like a kindergarten class, I want to share what I've learned today: No wonder. No wonder we have wars, religion fights, countries that are bankrupt, etc. If people get that upset at not getting to see a great band, then what do people do when somebody critiques their religion, or accidentially bumps them walking down the hallway.

Excellently written. I as well sat in frustration for an hour and 15 minutes frantically refreshing my computer at work (took my lunch) to get 4 of 200 tickets. Servers crash and when the site for tickets crashed at 9:56am I knew, wholy shit a ton of people want these tickets and if I want them I have to be prepared for war...so I hunkered down, opened up 20 bazillion windows refreshing each one every 10 seconds...my efforts paid off and i'm sorry to all those who didn't get tickets, but it's like shopping at 3am on Black Friday, you may or may not get things you wanted, even if you waited 6 hours outside in the rain. Saint Rocke, thanks for hosting...hopefully this won't sour your ability to have other big names come play in an amazing little city!
amen to that, some of these people didn't realize they are basically playing the lottery... trying to get a ticket like that is next to impossible. all the negativity and hatred was totally uncalled for. shame that some of these people have all the time in the world to sit on the computer and complain about not being able to see bush when there are people starving to death... kinda makes you think.

Wow, what kind of cop out response is that. You're the owner of an establishment and don't even know what's going on with a event being held at your venue? Especially one as big as this.
How about being accountable for a poorly executed sale, instead of talking to fans as if they are kindergartners.
If it was so obvious that there would be such a high demand, why weren't YOU prepared?
Its clear you are incapable of handling a show of this size.

No, donkey(spell check moron)... I'm talking about his response to the situation. It doesn't matter who has the tickets. If you have a business and you have a large client base upset you should handle the situation better than lecturing them with some "life is to short" speech. Thats just hospitality 101.
I probably wouldn't have even given it a second thought if he wouldn't have come across so condescending.

Allen - thanks for providing LA (and the South Bay) with an amazing music venue that values great music and supports local artists.
What a defensive response! A whole lot of people took time out of their day trying to buy tickets from a middle man that you have choosen as your vendor. They have a server crash and your condescending response to your customers is, life is tough, get over it, it's just a concert...
